A banger of a summer music festival line-up

SUMMER in Brisbane wouldn't be complete without a spectacular line-up of music festivals.

And this season, there really is something for all music tastes.

Here's what's on the set list:

A Day on the Green: Garbage, December 4: Garbage will be joined by The Temper Trap, The Preatures, Tash Sultana and Adalita for a long afternoon and evening on the sprawling green hill at Sirromet Winery.  

Woodford Folk Festival, December 27-Jan 1: More than 2000 performers will come together for the 31st Woodford Folk Festival, an event held every year over six days and nights.

FOMO 2017, January 7: FOMO is your boutique, all-inclusive festival experience bringing together a carefully curated line-up of international and local talent. Forget having to worrying about set time clashes - FOMO is held over one day, on one stage. On the bill is Flosstradamus, Empire of the Sun, Peking Duck, JME, Goldlink and more.

Brisbane is a hive of activity this music festival season.

St Jerome's Laneway Festival, January 26: Celebrate Australia Day with this fresh festival with acts like Tame Impala, Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), Glass Animals, Gang of Youths, Floating Points, AB Original and more.

A Day on the Green: Simple Minds and the B-52s, February 12: Simple Minds and the B-52s with special guests Models and Machinations will take over the grassy hill at Sirromet Winery in mid-February.

Earth Frequency Festival, February 17-20: South-west of Brisbane at Ivory's Rock, Earth Frequency is a four-day outdoor transformative doof festival and tribal gathering. Celebrating life with music and arts, lectures and workshops - this inclusive community event is for all people.

The Red Hot Summer, February 25: Heading to the Sandstone Point Hotel this coming February, John Farnham heads a line-up that includes James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Shannon Noll and Taxiride.
