Dusty Demons' home-made enduro track a hit
MOTOCROSS: Engines were revving at the Dusty Demons Motorcycle Club over the weekend, as gearheads from across the district and beyond battled it out in the club's first ever gymkhana and endurocross weekend.
However, this year they put a new twist on old favourites, with the club building its own enduro track at the Cunnamulla Showgrounds in a bid to make it more interesting for riders and spectators.
The unique take on a motocross event drew plenty of interest from the 60 riders who took to the home-made course, keen to see how the Demons had put their own spin on two classic competitions.
"All of us in the club came together and decided we wanted to do something different, instead of doing the plain old gymkhana and a traditional enduro,” Dusty Demons secretary Ronie Simpson said.
"We wanted to do something that spectators could actually watch and enjoy too, because usually an enduro is pretty boring for an audience - you can't see anything except maybe a few bikes coming in to the track to fuel up.
"What we ended up with was something that we were able to hold entirely on our own ground, and we think it has been well received.”
