Planting the seeds for patient comfort
THE Roma Hospital is in full bloom this week, thanks to a stunning new floral arrangement that has popped up on the ward verandas.
When hospital employee Julie Frazer approached the hospital auxiliary with the grand idea of having a lush look on the veranda, the non-profit organisation jumped at the chance, according to hospital auxiliary member, Marisa Grulke.
"Julie has done a lovely job,” she said.
"It looks great and we're all very pleased with the result.”
The groovy new greenery was funded by the hospital auxiliary and included the purchase of a set of pots, potting mix and plants.
The aim of the plants is to help provide a relaxing atmosphere for patients staying in the ward
This addition to the Roma Hospital is the latest in a long list of items donated by the hospital auxiliary, including quilts for the palliative care unit and a new bed and shower trolley.
Making a difference is the key aim of the hospital auxiliary and through these projects, the unit continues to have an important place in the Roma community.
The auxiliary always welcomes new members.
