Roma joins Speedway Australia in time for Easter Stampede

BOASTING a modern and progressive speedway venue, the Roma International Motor Speedway Club has now officially become part of Speedway Australia just in time for their Easter Stampede on April 20.

Having visited the venue in 2018, Speedway Australia said it was excited to welcome on board club president Austin Wells and the rest of the team from Roma International Motor Speedway.

Becoming a part of Speedway Australia opens the local club to many opportunities.

Roma's speedway club is now affiliated with many other clubs from around Australia, as well as being approved for visiting clubs to come and showcase their talent at our growing track.

With a buzzing sedan community in Roma, the track is excited to host both local and interstate competitors.

The club's first event this Saturday is expected to draw a large crowd of all ages to watch Super Street, junior sedan and V8 drivers compete in a thrilling style.

"Our club has not been a part of Speedway Australia since 2013,” club president Wells said.

"So we expect our Easter stampede to be a great event and one that will celebrate our club now officially being a part of the Australian speedway community.”

"In the short time we have been affiliated with Speedway Australia we have already gained 12 visiting nominations.

"It's a great opportunity and gains a lot of exposure for our local club.”

Speedway Australia provides officials for events, assists in grants for improvements and provides training for any individual interested in becoming an official.

"It is the best outcome the club could hope for to be accepted back into the Speedway Australia family, as it will significantly help the club's expansion and involvement,” Mr Wells said.

"I look forward to seeing new members coming aboard and our existing drivers being able to showcase their talents.

"We look forward to putting on a good show for the crowd.”

Wells said the Easter Stampede event was an awesome opportunity for anyone interested in motor sport to come along.

A full bar and canteen will run with a fireworks display later in the night.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for under 18s and pensioners, $40 for a family pass (two adults and two children under 18) and children under 12 are free.
