Roma shines at south-west league selection

PLAYERS across the south-sest donned their footy boots and made the pilgrimage out to Miles on Saturday to try out for the South-West Country A-grade side.

With no wind, unobscured sunlight and cooler temperatures sweeping across the playing fields, it was perfect conditions for rugby league.

The contact was fierce and both Roma teams, Cities and Roma and district, played well and were competitive in all of their matches.

When the full time whistle sounded and the dust settled the South-West selectors were impressed and chose a side that reflected Roma's contribution in its matches.

Of the 23-man side 15 were selected from the Roma District team while six were selected from Border Bushrangers and one from Western Ringers.
