Surat Aquarium upgrade to last a decade
Celebrations were held at the Surat Cobb & Co Changing Station on Monday as Council reopened the refurbished Surat Aquarium.
It received upgrades to the filtration, pumps and lighting, re-fibreglassing of both tanks and replacement of the viewing windows. New structures were introduced to provide a number of different habitats
“The filtration system has been integrated into the bottom of the aquarium tanks, which will only require maintenance every 10 years,” Cr Puddy Chandler said.
“The Surat Aquarium is managed by volunteers from the Surat Fishing & Restocking Club, so it is fantastic to be able to help reduce their workload,”
This is the first of a number of projects currently planned for the Cobb & Co Changing Station facility.
