Driver slapped with infringement notice after Roma crash

UPDATE, 4.20pm, September 17:

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the McDowall and Quintin Street crash has been slapped with an infringement notice, according to Roma sergeant Greg Benfer.

"The driver of Unit One has been issued an infringement notice for careless driving," sgt Benfer said.

The accident occurred at 2.50pm on September 16 and one person was taken to the Roma Hospital with spinal precautions.

 

UPDATE: September 17:

Details about what caused the crash on the corner of McDowall and Quintin Streets at Roma yesterday have emerged.

"There was a car halfway through the intersection when another car went through the intersection," a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

A red Isuzu SUV and white Toyota SUV collided at the intersection, leaving three people with injuries.

Two only received minor injuries but a third was hospitalised with spinal precautions.

The matter is still under investigation.

 

UPDATE: 5.31pm:

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman has confirmed further details about a patient who was hospitalised after a crash at Quintin and McDowall Streets at Roma today.

The woman was transported to Roma Hospital with spinal precautions, after being found laying on the ground when emergency services arrived.

She was transported in a stable condition.

 

UPDATE 3.48pm:

A PATIENT has been transported to the Roma Hospital after a two vehicle crash at the corner of McDowall and Quintin Streets, Roma.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they were called out at 2.50pm on September 16.

Two other patients were involved, but did not require transportation to hospital.

Police were moving vehicles through the scene, but the cars involved have been towed away and traffic is flowing freely.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were also on scene to clear the debris from the intersection.

 

EARLIER:

EMERGENCY services are on scene of a two vehicle traffic crash at the corner of McDowall and Quintin St, Roma.

A red Isuzu and a white Toyota SUV collided at the signalised intersection at 2.50pm.

Two patients have been involved and one has been transported to Roma Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said three crews are on scene, and police are directing traffic through the intersection.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are working to remove the debris and a towtruck is on scene.
