Ware appointed Santa Gertrudis general manager
SANTA Gertrudis Australia have appointed a new general manager.
Stephen Ware will take over the position next month.
Santa Gertrudis Australia's president Scott Ferguson said they undertook a nation search for suitable candidates to lead and develop the breed.
With over 25 years in agribusiness Mr Ware was uniquely positioned for the role according to Mr Ferguson.
"He has a great track record of growing business, implementing change and developing people, and I am assured that he will lead our breed to great things in the coming years."
Growing up on a sheep and cattle property near Blackall, Mr Ware has been closely involved with the land all his life.
Starting his career in 1989 as a station manager, Mr Ware also worked as a stock and station agent before moving into rural banking, an industry in which he has excelled for over 10 years.
Since 2012, Mr Ware has been the branch manager of Rabobank in Emerald, responsible for driving growth and efficiencies within the bank's business and for leading the transformation of their operation within the Emerald region.
Mr Ware takes over management of the association from Ben Noller.
Mr Noller is headed for prominent charolais stud, Palgrove, where he will be involved with the stud's breeding, genetics and business development program.
