There wasn't a dry eye in the house on Wednesday, as Wayne Finn and wife Sherry touched down at Roma airport to a warm welcome from the crowd.
Entering to applause from thirty family and friends, the trip marked Wayne's first journey to Roma since his accident last year.
Wayne's smile was infectious, as family members and friends gathered to give him a long-awaited hug.
Wayne was the sole occupant of a truck roll over between Morven and Charleville in March, and has spent the last nine months recovering in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, with Sherry by his side.
"I can't explain it, I was nearly crying on the plane,” Sherry said.
"And to see everyone here, all our friends and family, it's been too long.”
